Planned features/changes for beta 2 release:

• Allow localization of admin panel via language files. [COMPLETE]
  
• Change strings so that it works also in a photoblog context. [COMPLETE]
  
• Change $comics variable so that it is NOT global. [COMPLETE]
  
• Add jQuery UI Datepicker. [COMPLETE]
  
• Add date formatting option to NetsahaClass. [COMPLETE]
  
• Terminology changes, including variable and function names: comic -> series, chapter -> album, strip -> image [COMPLETE]
  
• Switch to open source license and apply to core files. [COMPLETE]
  

Planned features/changes for beta 3 release:

• Installer.
  
• Caching.
  
• Delete images.
  
• Thumbnails.
  
• More frontend templates: sample_photoblog, sample_rss, sample_archive, sample_webcomic...
  
• Provide a Finnish language file
  
• Release in Google Code SVN
  

During Release Candidate phase:

• Provide different styles for templates.
  
• Provide frontend extensions to show the power of social web: Facebook, Twitter, FormSpring...

Note: beta 2 will not be compatible with beta 1. I decided to rename variables to avoid confusion with terminology. This means the users of beta 1 will need some adjusting when switching to beta 2 once it is released.

Major changes for beta 2 are now complete. However I'll be doing some tweaking here and there to make sure things are smooth for the release; I want to keep the quality of the releases stable and usable.

Datepicker has been added, now it is all just tweaking and polishing small stuff for the release. Expecting to do it in a few hours!
